An omnibus volume is the term used to describe a compilation manga release, which takes several individual chapter books, typically tankobons, and condenses them into one large release. Usually this is done once the originals are out of print, and sometimes includes new content, or a new translation, which is the case with the two recently released Gunslinger Girl omnibuses.
